The Via delle Orecchiette in Bari is an incredible place to explore some of Italy’s most iconic traditions. This historical street offers a glimpse into the centuries old production of orecchiette, a unique pasta shaped like little ears that comes from the Italian word for “little ears”. This popular pasta is made from flour, egg, and water, and then kneaded into shape by passionate housewives. You can even taste the resulting pasta right there! Apart from learning about the history of orecchiette, you can also enjoy a delicious lunch with locals, or buy souvenirs of freshly made orecchiette to bring home. Whether it’s learning more about a classic Italian meal or just simply getting to know Bari better, Via delle Orecchiette has something fun and interesting to offer everyone!
