Notre-Dame d'Orval Abbey is a Cistercian abbey in the Belgian village of Villers-devant-Orval. The abbey was established in 1132 in the Gaume region. The monastery is known for its history and spiritual life, but also for its Trappist beer ( Orval beer) and typical Abbey cheese. A visit to the ruins of the old Cistercian abbey reveals a site with a fascinating history.
