The Segnes Trek is a unique hiking experience that takes you through the Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This spectacular trek offers breathtaking views of geological phenomena found in a magnificent alpine landscape with beautiful trails and majestic peaks.

You can start the hike either way, Elm (Graubünden) or Flims (Glarus)

HIKE DETAILS:

I personally started my hike in Flims and ended in Elm. It was one of the most beautiful hike I did in kanton Graubünden so far.

You can take the chairlift (Talstation Foppa) up from Flims to Foppa. That will save you approximately 300 meter of elevation gain.

Then you follow the sign towards Segnespass and Elm. On switzetlandmobility app you can find this trail marked with number 73.

On the way you will see a beautiful waterfall called Tschenghel dil Gori.

Once you tackled up the mountain a bit before Segnespass you will have to climb a ladder ( nothing crazy) and once you made it up to Segnespass you can grab a drink at the Mountain Lodge at Segnespass that is hidden in the mountains. Enjoy the view to Elm and also never forget to admire the views from where you came from.

The distance will be 17 km with 860 meters of elevation gain. It took me 5,5 hours of hike.

Once you reach Elm you have an option to shorten the hike and take the cable car ( Elm Tschinglenalp cable car) down back to Elm. That will save you some elevations downhill ( about 350 meters) I didn't choose this option.

Honestly this is one of those hikes that will leave you speechless.
