Zpráva od Ian G Black

St. Machar's Cathedral in Aberdeen, Scotland, is a historic Church of Scotland church located in Old Aberdeen. Although it's no longer a cathedral, it's still known as a high kirk. Legend has it that St. Machar founded the church around 580 AD near where the River Don bends like a bishop's crosier. The cathedral has a rich history, with parts dating back to the 14th century. It features impressive stone carvings, a fortified design, and notable burials, including that of William Wallace's left quarter. The cathedral has undergone restoration work, including renewing the battlements and displaying important artifacts. Its stained glass windows are exceptional, and the heraldic ceiling showcases coats of arms from various historical figures.
