Te Kopikopiko o te Waka, formerly known as Peak View, is a cultural heritage site in Fox Glacier offering panoramic views of the Southern Alps and Fox Glacier. Developed in partnership with Ngati Mahaki, the Department of Conservation, and the local community, this site tells the Ngai Tahu story of creation through carvings and a waka display. Visitors can enjoy easy walkways, a picnic area, and on clear days, use a plane table to identify peaks. It's a great spot to soak in the beauty of the region and learn about the rich Maori history intertwined with the land.
