If you love truffle, you need to run to Osteria delle Tre Panche. Located at the top of Hotel Hermitage right along the Arno River, the large windows in the dining room paired with the outdoor terrace open in the Spring/Summer months offer unbeatable views over Florence. While sometimes I find that the better the view, the more “stuck-up” a restaurant can feel, the opposite couldn’t be more true here. They do a wonderful job at assuring the atmosphere is elegant yet informal, so you feel incredibly comfortable and taken care of. For this reason, it’s perfect for a date night or any special night out. As for food, you could close your eyes and randomly point to anything on the menu and it would be absolutely delicious. They offer refined takes on traditional Italian, but as I mentioned, their real specialty here is the use of truffle in their dishes – they have entire sections dedicated to both black and white truffle plates, and they do it so dang good. There really is nothing like eating fantastic Italian food made with Italian truffles while watching the sun set over the red roofs of Florence.

Kacie's Recommendation: If you haven’t picked up on it, I highly suggest you splurge and get any one of the truffle dishes. Off the black truffle menu, the Tortellini with Fresh Truffle is fabulous, as are the Fried Eggs with Truffle (yes, eggs are a lunch/dinner food in Italy). If you’re really wanting a full truffle experience, off the white truffle menu, the Chicken Breast with White Truffle might be the best chicken I’ve ever had. I’d also highly recommend sharing a plate of either (or lets be honest, both) the “Patatine di Bolgheri fritte al tartufo” and/or the “Mozzarella in carrozza fritta con crema di pecorino e tartufo”. And to finish – the cheesecake. You’ve just got to get the cheesecake.
