Here’s an awesome place in Iceland where you can have a full Viking experience.
Ingolfskkali, only 45 minutes away from Reykjavik, is an family run, authentic Viking long house made of wood and turf.
Ingolf Arnarson was the first settler in Iceland in the 800s and the first vikings in Iceland lived in these kinds of houses with their whole families.
At Ingolfskkali you get to experience traditional Icelandic dishes made from what locals can hunt and gather from the Icelandic nature. Despite popular belief, Icelandic Cusine is actually super delicious and the food here was amazing!
Included in the experience is activities that will test your Viking skills like Archery and ax throwing. This was such a great way to be immersed in traditional Icelandic Viking Culture.
If you’re looking to add an amazing culinary AND cultural experience to your trip in Iceland, I definitely recommend checking Ingolfskkali out when you are in Iceland.
Plus you get to drink beer out of horn, and honestly, it tastes better that way!
