Zpráva od Francesco Meola

The Duomo di Napoli, or the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, is a beautiful Roman Catholic cathedral located in Naples, Italy. Its official name is Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta and is widely known as the Cathedral of Saint Januarius, the patron saint of Naples. It was initially built in the 13th century by King Charles I of Anjou, with construction continuing until completion in the 14th century. The interior of the cathedral houses various artworks, including frescoes, altarpieces, the bronze railing by Cosimo Fanzago, and a reliquary by French Masters from the fourteenth century. Every year, on the first Saturday in May, 19 September, and 16 December, visitors can witness a remarkable phenomenon - the 'Miracle of the Blood' - in which a vial of St. Januarius' blood liquefies. A visit to Naples would not be complete without a trip to this incredible ancient church!
