Joen and I decided to take a rental scooter to Điện Bàn, a cool little town in Quảng Nam Province, and the journey itself was half the fun. The road to Điện Bàn was absolutely beautiful, with lush landscapes and friendly locals waving as we passed by. It really gave us a sense of Vietnam’s welcoming vibe.

Điện Bàn used to be part of a district by the same name until it became its own town in 2015. It has a population of around 230,000 people and covers about 214 square kilometers. The capital, Vĩnh Điện, even has a historical citadel site dating back to 1833, which gives the place a sense of historical depth.

What’s interesting about Điện Bàn is that while it feels like a small town, it has big ambitions—it's set to become a city directly under the province by 2030. It’s a growing town with a lot of character, and the locals were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the trip even more memorable.
