What to do
Viewpoint. Using a funicular and cable car, you can easily reach the spectacular viewpoint and enjoy the view from the restaurant's outdoor terrace.
Hike. Or you can hike up, starting in the beautiful alpine meadows and ending on the dramatic ridge leading to the peak. See hiking options.
Via Ferrata. Moléson is very popular for its Via Ferrata, with iron rungs embedded in the rock and over 1300m of safety cable along the route. You can rent equipment on-site and access the route the mountain railways and a hike. Learn more.
Coaster. At the base of the mountain, you'll find a 559m long double-rail alpine coaster, no gondola required.
Mountain go carts. Ride 3-wheel go carts 500m down the mountain.
How to get there
The Le Moléson funicular train is located near Rte du Moléson 228, 1663 Moléson-Village.
To reach the top of Le Moleson, you ride a funicular train to Plan-Francey, then a cable car to the peak.
By car: about 40 mins from Montreux. There is a large parking lot next to the funicular station.
By public transport: take a rain to Gr, then bus to Moléson-sur-Gruyères. It's about 2h from Lausanne or Montreux.
Tickets
For the viewpoint, you'll need a return ticket on the funicular and cable car.
If you are hiking, you may only need a one-way ticket or not use the funicular and/or cable car. So indicate that when purchasing your mountain railway tickets.
