How to get there

By car: The calbe car is located at Frümsnerbergstrasse 9467 Sennwald . There is parking next to the cable car station, but it can fill up very quickly on weekends. Best to arrive before 9:30. Travel time from Zurich

By public transport: The closest bus stop is Frümsen, Luftseilbahn Staubern, about a 500m walk from the cable car valley station. The bus schedule is quite infrequent, so check the schedule carefully on SBB.ch before heading out. Travel time from Zürich 1h45.

The last bus from Frümsen, Luftseilbahn Staubern is 19:50. But after that, you can walk another 4 mins to the Frümsen, Rathaus stop, which has bus service much later.

The cable car runs mostly year round.

June – September 7.00 am – 10.00 pm
May and October 8.00 am – 10.00 pm
April, November – December 9.00 am – 10.00 pm

Tickets

The Staubern cable car is self-service. You purchase tickets at a machine at the entrance. You can pay with a credit card.

In 2024, a round trip ticket costs CHF 40/adult. No discounts for Swiss travel cards or passes. See current prices.

NOTE: We have had trouble in the past getting the payment to work. One time, we had to use the provided service phone to call the staff and explain the problem. They buzzed us through the turnstile and we paid at the restaurant at the top.

When the light turns green, scan your ticket to pass through the turnstile and get onto the gondola. It fits 8 people.

When it's time to go, the cable car doors automatically close and you ride up the mountain.
