Zpráva od worldpitou

Huai Hom is an idyllic village nestled in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand. Settled by an indigenous group called the Pakakayor, Huai Hom is well-known for raising sheep to make woolen fabrics, as well as growing Arabica coffee plants due to the high elevation of 1,000 metres. In 1970, the King and Queen of Thailand paid a visit to the village and were concerned about the level of deforestation significantly affecting the area. In response, the King suggested that the residents build three catch basins to store water - which they successfully achieved with hoes and shovels over the course of 10 years. To this day, these catch basins are still being used by the villagers as a source of drinking water. As part of their commitment to improving the environment, the Queen established the Mae La Noi Royal Project Development Centre in 1980 to introduce sustainable agriculture methods. Huai Hom offers visitors a mix of breathtaking beauty and intriguing culture, making it a great place to explore!
