Message from Dani Guindo

Strandarkirkja, a Lutheran parish church in Selvogur, Iceland, is known as the 'miracle church' with a reputation for divine powers. Legend has it that sailors prayed for safe passage during a storm and were guided by an angel to shore, where they built the church. Today, it still holds occasional services and is open to visitors in the summer months. The church's history is intertwined with the decline of the nearby community of Selvogur, which was once a thriving settlement but now only has a few residents. Despite its remote location, Strandarkirkja continues to attract visitors from around the world who seek its spiritual connection and historical significance.
