Hidden gem waterfall hike in Iceland

Message from Dani Guindo

Valagil Falls is a hidden gem in the Westfjords Region of Iceland, offering a moderately challenging 4.7-mile out-and-back trail that leads to a stunning waterfall. The hike starts at a parking lot about 7 km south of Sudavik on Hwy 61 and takes around 2 hours to complete. Along the way, hikers will encounter small stream crossings and a bit of an uphill scramble before reaching the rewarding waterfall. The trail is great for hiking, running, or just taking a leisurely walk, especially during the months of June through September. Don't forget to watch your step on the loose rocks and enjoy the peaceful beauty of Valagil Falls!
