Trollstigen is another member of Norway’s 18 tourist routes, and it is spectacular. It has 11 hairpin turns like snakes up the mountainside. There are two ways to get to Trollstigen. You can drive through Valldalen, and access the top of Trollstigen, or you can pass through åndalsnes and get to the bottom. You’ll definitely get the best view from the top, and while the drive can be narrow and chaotic at times, it is quite the experience in its own right. The side of the roads has some nice waterfalls to enjoy on the journey.

IMPORTANT! Trollstigen is closed in the winter and usually opens up in the middle of May, and stays open to the snow arrives in the fall.
