My top suggestion is to visit in the morning and then see how you feel.

For a lot of local tourists, the area is more interesting at night when they turn the lights on. Personally, I think it looks a bit over-done but hey that does mean that the most crowded time of day is after sunset - which is great because if you get there early morning, you'll be able to experience the park a lot more chill.
