Salmon Rocks in Cape Conran Coastal Park was my very first stop in Victoria after traveling south down the coast, and wow, what a stunning spot to kick things off. I have to admit, I was bracing myself for the gloomy, cold weather that Victoria is known for and I don't know why I was ready for it to start as soon as I crossed the border, guess I was just being overly pessimistic because this place was anything but dreary. Known for its striking natural beauty, Salmon Rocks features rugged rock formations dramatically meeting the wild ocean, creating a scene that’s a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.

The walk to Salmon Rocks is a breeze from the car park, taking you through diverse terrains from heathlands to coastal scrub. As you get closer, the scenery really pops, with the rocks themselves boasting vibrant orange hues from the algae. The rock pools are teeming with marine life too like starfish, so it’s a fun little adventure to explore and see what you can find.

I even took a sunset stroll along Salmon Beach and stumbled upon a shark that had washed ashore, definitely a bit sad and eerie but fascinating to see. Whether you're climbing around on the rocks, snapping scenic photos, or just chilling by the water, Salmon Rocks is a fantastic place to soak up Victoria’s coastal charm.
