The historic Monopoli Cathedral is a beautiful landmark located in the historic center. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it houses an icon of the Madonna that arrived miraculously in the 12th century on a raft. This raft was used to complete the cathedral's roof. The cathedral was originally completed in the 15th century and was later reconstructed in the 18th century.
