This Bay is one of those special places that feels like a secret waiting to be discovered. Known mainly to locals and a few lucky travelers who happen upon it. it’s called Ding Bay because the rocks in the water put dings in your surfboard!
A super quiet locals beach tucked behind the rocks at the other end of Langs Beach, its accessible by a path off Cove Road, or walking around the rocks from Langs Beach at low tide, Ding Bay is a good example of the perfect beach with high cliffs, caves, rockpools and crystal clean water, you may well find your footsteps the only ones in the white sand.
If you're someone who loves exploring New Zealand's hidden gems, Ding Bay is one of those perfect, off-the-beaten-path spots that promises a truly memorable experience.
From reviewers:
'Possibly the best beach in New Zealand. Can be accessed by either a stair set leading off of cove road or the more rewarding option of a walk through the pancake rocks from Waipu cove. The beach itself is covered in pancake looking rocks structures and pohutakawa trees '
