Bruneck (Brunico) is a charming town nestled in the north-Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige, a hidden gem worth exploring. With its narrow streets, medieval houses, and colourful buildings adorned with balconies and flowers, Bruneck exudes a quaint and picturesque atmosphere. The town of Brunico is really cute - lots of churches, the obligatory fort, a river flowing through the middle of town.

Top Tip: The local government provides a free bus and train service throughout the whole South Tyrol region for tourists staying around the town.

You can wander through the old town, discovering hidden statues and ancient doorways along the way. Each with its own unique history and artistic treasures. Whether strolling through the streets or immersing yourself in the local cuisine and outdoor activities, Brunico offers a delightful experience for all.

You can visit Brunico any time of the year. The architecture of the town is beautiful any season. In winter, Brunico is most often the starting point for the resorts of Kronplatz, and in summer it is the starting point for trips to the Dolomites, including Lake Braies and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo mountains.

📌The Tre Cime di Lavaredo mountains are located 55 km from Brunico. You can only get there by car; the travel time is a little over an hour. Lago Di Braies is located just 25 km from Brunico. There is a train from Brunico to Niederdorf – Prags station, where you need to take a local bus # 442 directly to the lake. The travel time is also a little over an hour.
