The Osugidani Valley hike is one of the most thrilling and visually stunning hikes in Japan, offering a challenging adventure through a dramatic gorge with waterfalls, steep cliffs, and untouched wilderness and it is one of my favorite hikes in Mie.
By Car: Drive to Chubudenryokumiyakawa Daisan Power Station, where parking is available. This roadside station serves as a gateway to the Osugidani Gorge and other surrounding hiking trails in the area.
By Public Transport: Take a bus from Kintetsu Matsusaka Station to Okuise Odai Michi no Eki (seasonal bus service available). From there, take the mountain bus which runs from April to November and requires reservation beforehand. It's 3000 yen one way, has 1-2 departures a day and takes 90min.
