The Peter Tscherrig Anenhütte, also known as Anenhütte, is a unique and independent mountain lodge located in the beautiful Lötschental region of the Swiss Alps. The hike to the hut is beautiful especially in October when the larches are golden in the valley.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Start at Fafleralp. It is an easy hike, there are many signs that could take you to the hut.

The hike is a loop hike and the distance all together is 11km long with 680 meters of ascent.

It is certainly a great and easy trail, you can also complete it with children. Approximately takes 4 hours.

You can start either on the left or the right but I recommend doing left towards Guggisee a beautiful alpine lake.Once you reach Anenhütte you can admire the beautiful Langglacier and Anunglacier.

TIP: From the hut take another 5 mins walk and you can reach Anusee, a small alpine lake hiding behind the hut. Take a break here, enjoy the view before you start your way back down towards Fafleralp.

In the second part of the hike you will drop back down to the valley and follow the river back to Fafleralp. On the way don't forget to checkout Grundsee. When I was there the lake was so calm I could catch the perfect reflection of the surrounding mountains.
