Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British Sovereign located in Westminster, London, United Kingdom. Historically owned by John Sheffield, Duke of Buckingham, it was bought by George III for his Queen, Charlotte, in 1762 and remodeled into a palace in the 1820s by architect John Nash, with the Marble Arch entrance removed from Hyde Park. Home to the Royal Family since Queen Victoria occupied it in 1837, visitors can explore its State Rooms filled with precious artifacts and artworks or watch the Changing of the Guard. The palace also houses the luxurious motorcars and dozens of carriages, including the 1762 Gold State Coach and the 2019 Diamond Jubilee State Coach. From Buckingham Palace, one can experience the stunning cityscape, while walking along the Mall leading to the monument for Queen Victoria in front of St James's park.
