The hike up Reinebringen is considered one of the most stunning on the Lofoten Islands. The steep ascent is rewarded with a breathtaking panorama! Starting point: Parking in the area is very limited, so it’s essential to arrive early to secure a spot along the E10. If these are full, you can park in Reine at the paid lot (50 NOK/h), coordinates: 67.934671, 13.094844.

Route: The ascent to the 484-meter-high Reinebringen takes you up 1,978 stone steps, crafted by Nepalese Sherpas, making the steep path safer. However, caution is still advised in wet or snowy conditions as the steps can become slippery. The stairs lead through a small forest and then open up to more exposed terrain. Along the way, several rest stops provide opportunities to take in the stunning views. At the top of the steps, around 440 meters up, a spectacular view of Reine, the sea, the surrounding mountains, and the fjord unfolds. For those looking to reach the actual summit, a poorly maintained path continues from here, requiring sure-footedness and care.
