The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica is a 320-acre nature preserve and rescue center located on the southeast Caribbean side that houses and cares for sloths. It has become a beacon of wildlife conservation, formed in 1992 as the world’s first advocate for sloths. Visitors now have the amazing opportunity to explore and learn about these incredible creatures through one or two hour tours that take them up close and personal with some of the resident sloths. The sanctuary also offers other activities such as visiting their Butterfly Inn, participating in research projects, hikes onsite and more, while also raising awareness on the importance of wildlife conservation. A visit here will be an unforgettable experience!
