Well known place because of the lake that is there.

To drive from Skopun to Sandur takes only 20 minutes. Sandur is well known because of lake Sandsvatn (The third largest lake on the Faroe Islands). Sandur is also known for having the only sand dunes in the Faroes. So a walk by the beach is recommended.
