It is a hidden beach in the east of Majorca. Discovered thanks to the Viveremaiorca Grotto Day. Cala Varques has managed to escape from urbanization.  In practice, it is located in the middle of unspoilt nature. Yes, it is also suitable for nudists and is a favorite among Majorcan. This beach is very isolated, so bring water and packed lunches.

How to get to Cala Varques. There are 2 routes:

It starts from Cala Romantica and the route is not easy but you walk for about 45 minutes on the coast (you breathe sea air). Once you reach Cala Varquez you can walk right into the bay where there are some pretty little niches and bays that you can have all to yourself.

The internal route: Why all this trouble to get to the beach?

The fault is an old legal issue that involves the owners of the estate (and the gate) located on the road leading to Cala Varques and the municipality. A kind of contradiction, because the land is private, but by law every beach must have an easy and guaranteed access.

While waiting for the issue to be resolved, to go to Cala Varques you have to climb over the wall and gates.

🇮🇹 E' una spiaggia nascosta a Est di Maiorca. Scoperta grazie al Grotta day di Viveremaiorca. Cala Varques è riuscita a sfuggire all’urbanizzazione. In pratica, si trova in mezzo alla natura incontaminata. Sì, è adatta anche ai nudisti ed è una delle preferite dai maiorchini. Questa spiaggia è molto isolata, quindi porta con te acqua e pranzo al sacco.

Come arrivare a Cala Varques. Esistono 2 percorsi:

• Si parte da Cala Romantica e il percorso comunque, non è semplicissimo ma si cammina per circa 45 minuti sulla costa (si respira aria di mare). Una volta a Cala Varquez puoi camminare a destra della baia dove ci sono alcune graziose piccole nicchie e baie che puoi avere tutte per te.

• Il percorso interno: Perché tutto questo casino per arrivare alla spiaggia?

La colpa è di una vecchia questione giudiziaria che vede coinvolti i proprietari della tenuta (e del cancello) che si trova sulla strada che conduce a Cala Varques ed il comune. Una sorta di contraddizione, perché il terreno è privato, ma per legge ogni spiaggia deve avere una via di accesso facile e garantita.

In attesa che la questione si risolva, per andare a Cala Varques bisogna scavalcare muretto e cancelli.
