Mount Street Gardens is a hidden gem with a spooky past. Built on top of a disused burial ground, this picturesque garden features a 19th-century fountain, trees from China, and nesting birds. The nearby Grosvenor Chapel and Jesuit Church serve as reminders of its original purpose. In Victorian times, grave robbers used to loot the cemetery for bodies to sell to medical schools, leading to its closure under the Burial Acts in the 1850s. Despite its eerie history, the gardens today offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
