Nelson's Column is a monument in Trafalgar Square, built to honour Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. Standing tall at 169 feet, it features a statue of Nelson atop a Corinthian column made of granite. Surrounding the base are four bronze lions designed by Sir Edwin Landseer. The column underwent refurbishment in 2006 and has been a site for various publicity stunts and protests.
