A restaurant can make or break how amazing your holiday was. So let me give you my favorite ones around the country!
These are the restaurants I will make sure to stop at or make a reservation for when I am in the area. They are not in a particular order, but just make a circle around the country.

Kaffi Krús
This cute house right on the ring road has great pizza's, but the other food is amazing too. Don't forget to grab a dessert here too.
Pakkhús
When in Höfn, you need to try the lobster. This place has great lobster soup, so they've got you covered. But please try the rest of their menu too!
Nielsen
I've only been here once and dream of going back. Everything they served was a piece of art (see the picture above). They have 3, 5 and 7 course meals in the evening, but you can also go there for lunch. Don't forget to make a reservation.
Rub23
I'm happy to have this restaurant close to home. They have great sushi here. And also a 3 or 6 course menu. And if you are in the area around lunch time they have an all you can eat buffet. Which is absolutely amazing too.
Narfeyrarstofa
Whenever I am in the area I book a table at this place. The atmosphere here is amazing and the food is just as great.
The Settlement Center
This is my go to stop when I drive from south to north or the other way around. They have the absolute best vegetarian lunch buffet. The bread and butter at this place... chef's kiss. They serve soup and have many different vegetarian options beside that.
