Message from Elisa in Iceland

These crater-like formations were created by steam eruptions during volcanic activity in the area. While not true volcanoes, they are a unique geological feature surrounded by wetlands and popular for birdwatching.

You can walk around the craters and have a great view from there over the lake.

in March this is also where the horse riding competition is held during Myvatn Open. This competition is usually the first weekend of March https://www.vetrarhatid.com/
