This is a reconstructed viking-era farmstead. It was built in 1974 as a part of the national celebrations of the 1100th anniversary of the settlement of Iceland in 874.
It is a historically accurate reconstruction of three buildings, including a longhouse, which used to be 7 km to the north at Stöng. You can still visit the ruins there as well.
You can visit the reconstructed farm and experience the medieval and way of life. You can wear medieval clothing and play cards in the hall. It's a fun way to learn about Icelandic history.
