This white turf house is in a somewhat secluded area, but it is definitely worth a visit.

You can see how the people that lived there until 1949. It is crazy to me that people still lived there until so recently. Of course it was the rich farmers that had a turf house as beautiful as this one, but still some parts of it were not luxurious at all.

Definitely stop here if you are in the area and are interested in Icelandic history.

Behind the turf house, you will also find a handicraft shop with beautiful knitted sweaters, hats etc and art work for sale made by the people from that area.
