Plakias beach is 1.3 km long and is a long wide stretch of soft golden sand, providing plenty of space to spread out, relax, and enjoy the coastal scenery. The water is crystal clear and inviting, with a mesmerising blue color that beckons swimmers and snorkelers to explore the underwaterworld. The beach is backed by a line of tamaris trees with umbrellas, providing shade and a cool retreat from the midday sun, as wel as the picturesque backdrop as day of relaxation.
The main beach of Plakias lies between Paligremnos and the village center. Its western section near the village experiences cooler waters due to the Kotsifos River flowing into the sea. The beach is blue flag awarded.
The eastern part of the beach is clothing optional. Parking is available everywhere.
Plakias beach is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, and changing rooms.
