Bantham Beach is a fantastic beach in South Devon, and the one which really made me fall in love with this area.

With its clean sands, shallow waters, and lifeguards on duty, it's perfect for families with little ones who want to splash around and build sandcastles. And if you're into surfing, you're in luck because Bantham Beach is also known for its great waves.

The Sloop Inn is a cosy pub within the village, but there are also some food trucks right by the beach to help provide lunch on those all day summer beach sessions.

The views out to nearby Burgh Island are beautiful, especially at sunset. If you time the tides right, you can paddle board from here all around the island which I can’t recommend enough.

Dogs are welcomed all year, but from 1st May and 30th September, they’re not allowed on the main beach, but they are allowed on the sandy area beside the estuary known as river beach.

The downside of Bantham is the parking is steep here! Parking is generally £10, and they only reduce it a couple of hours before closing. If you arrive early or late enough, you can avoid this by parking along the road in the village.
