Before you start your travels to the Philippines, it is important to organize a few things like what credit or debit card to use. You are completely free in your choice and you can even use your local bank card to withdraw money which we sometimes did if our other cards would not work. However, after 5 years of travelling we figured that WISE has the best travel debit cards out there. Not only do you get free monthly withdrawals from international ATMs but you can convert currencies so USD or EUR to Philippine Pesos in realtime in the app with the best rates out there. Everytime we checked WISE's rates, they were always the best. We used it also for a bank transfer to a company in Balabac (Palawan) to send them money for our 4d3n tour. It is important to set up your PIN and try out the card in your own country to unlock it and test it. Here is a link if you would like to sign up for a Wise card for free (no extra costs attached) and receive a bonus of either one transaction of up to 500 Euros with no fees or a free physical travel or debit card (depends on availability in your country) https://wise.com/invite/ihpc/agnesnicolep
