The iconic Panathenaic Stadium located in Athens, Greece is an architectural and historical wonder.

It has served as the stadium site for several beloved events over the years, including the Zappas Olympics in 1870 and 1875, the 1896 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the 2004 Olympic games and the 2011 Special Olympics. It was established by ancient Athenian ruler Lycurgus in 330 BC, then renovated by Roman senator Herodes Atticus in 144 AD with a capacity of 50,000 seats.

The stadium is now home to various cultural events such as concerts and sporting championships. This unique structure, made entirely out of marble, serves as a testament to the rich history of Greece and its commitment to celebrating both amateur and professional sports.
