Check the travel time!

Norway is a huge country and some places might be even further than you'd expect. Sometimes, places seem to be close to each other, but when you check the travel time, it shows that you have to drive all the way around! This comes because of the many mountains, lakes and fjords. Most roads here do not go straight but wind along the mountains and fjords. In addition, along the coast there is also a chance that you will have to take a ferry. You also have to allow extra travel time for this. It also happens that roads are closed, especially in winter. So, always check your route and travel time in advance.
