This is the place were the last active volcano in Iceland erupted. When that was happening, it was literally and figuratively the hottest place on Iceland.

You can still hike to the area where the eruption was, but I do not think it is that interesting at the moment.

In the video you see the cone that was created in the 2021 eruption, but I filmed it in 2022 when I was on my way to the active area. So this is probably what most of the are looks like now. Not super exciting, but maybe interesting if you like geology.
