Iceland's norhternmost town, Siglufjörður is a historic fishing town. Back in 1900 it was a small shark fishing town but it became one of the largest town in Iceland during the herring era. The town itself is surrounded by mountains and awe-inspiring nature. With nature always in reach, you can go hiking, go swimming (in the local pool or the ocean if you're brave enough), play golf or go skiing (during winter).

A little over an hour from Akureyri. You must visit the bakery, check out the restaurants and walk around. Go to the herring era museum and learn more about the history of Siglufjörður.
