Incredible onsen hotel with stunning location up in the mountains with views over Matsumoto. This place is a quite under the radar with international tourists yet popular with domestic tourism as they pilgrimage here for the onsen - you will need to book in advance for this one!

The hotel offers a shuttle bus although you can also make your own way here by car. Make sure to check out the walking paths nearby which are mostly flat and easy for a stroll. Keep an eye out for Kamoshika as I always seem to find them roaming around in this area.
