Don't get me wrong, Tavern Law is cool, but the real action is hidden upstairs. It'll require a phone call on an old rotary dial, a secret password, and stepping through an abandoned bank vault before heading up a flight of stairs. You'll be transported into a 1920s speakeasy in true form; I'm talking furniture, lighting, decor, bartender getup...even down to sourcing authentic spirits of the 20's. But the real magic of Needle & Thread is that you don't need a menu to order. They'll ask you three questions and make you one of the best cocktails your taste buds have ever made acquaintance with. I guess they really do know how to thread the needle.
Expect to spend a little more here, but the level of quality is there and the food is great too. Hats off to Needle & Thread. Of all the speakeasies I've been to around the US, this is comfortably in my top 3.
