Bishamon-dō Temple is a beautiful temple nestled in the suburb of Yamashina, just north of the scenic Higashiyama Mountains. This 8th century AD temple is one of the most picturesque places to visit during Kyoto's Fall Foliage season, when its maple leaves turn crimson red. Visitors can visit Bishamon-dō Temple by taking the train or subway from Yamashina Station, or climbing the walking trails from Nanzen-ji Temple.
