The hike to Lake Blåvatnet in Norway is an adventure any hiker will love. Starting at the picnic area Giftesteinen along road no. 60 going to Hellesylt, hikers will follow a gravel road for 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) before reaching the start of the path itself. From here, hikers will pass through little cabins and enjoy spectacular views as they walk along the shoreline of the lake. At the end of their journey, they will have 9 km (5.6 mi) under their belt and 370 m (1214 ft) in elevation gain. Those looking for more of an adventure can extend their trek by summiting the peak at the end of the lake for incredible views from above. No matter the chosen route, the hike to Lake Blåvatnet offers something magical - deep blue hue, sheer mountain cliffs, and hardly anyone in sight.
