Yelapa is home to some of the best waterfalls near Puerto Vallarta, and if you're up for a little adventure, you can hike to a couple of them. The most accessible one is just a 20-minute walk from the pier—just follow the signs from town, or if you’re unsure, ask any locals for “cascada,” and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Now, heads up! If you visit during the dry season (like I did in May), the waterfall might be more of a trickle. Still, it’s a fun walk through the town, and the street art along the way is gorgeous, so I didn’t mind the lack of water too much.
