The Naviglio Grande is a historic canal in Lombardy, Italy, connecting the Ticino river to Milan. It was built in the 12th and 13th centuries for irrigation and transportation purposes. Over the years, it played a vital role in the region's economy, carrying goods and facilitating trade. Today, it is mainly used for irrigation, but there are efforts to revive its navigation for recreational purposes.
