Laufás Turf House Museum and Heritage Site in North-Iceland is one of the biggest turf houses in Iceland. This beautiful turf house was a wealthy vicarage and was built for a minister with a large household, and it has been constantly maintained throughout the years. At Laufás, visitors can explore the building’s traditional construction and admire old relics that date back to 1900. It provides a unique glimpse into the past of Icelandic architecture. Alongside the turf house, there is Laufáskirkja church which was built in 1865 and is home to a beautifully carved and painted pulpit dating back to 1698. Guests can also take advantage of the local eider nesting area to witness the beauty of Icelandic wildlife. Exploring these historical sites amidst the lush landscape of Eyjafjörður fjord will make for a truly unforgettable experience.
