Oberiberg is a charming village nestled in the kanton of Schwyz in Switzerland. With its picturesque landscapes and cozy atmosphere, it offers a perfect getaway for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The village is known for its ski area, Hoch-Ybrig, which attracts visitors during the winter months. Oberiberg also boasts a rich history, dating back to the 13th century, and is home to a close-knit community of around 900 residents. Whether you're looking to hit the slopes or simply soak in the beauty of the Swiss Alps, Oberiberg has something for everyone.

WINTER HIKE DETAILS:

Start at Hoch Übrig, Talstation Laucheren bus stop.

From here follow the 565 pink sign named Alter Schwyzerweg. The route was built in the 14 th century to provide the shortest connection between Yberg and Schwyz.

The hike is easy but not really flat. It has 440 m of elevation gain which requires some more effort since you hike on snow. The distance will be 8 km in and out.

After hiking 4 km you arrive to Ibergeregg where you have a chance to take the bus back to Oberiberg or hike back the same way you came from.

You can find restaurants at Ibergeregg where you can relax and take in the view.
