Linlathen East Bridge is probably the oldest iron bridge in Scotland, with an estimated date of construction of 1796. It used to provide access, over the Dichty Burn to the mansion house of the large local estate. The Linlathen East Iron Bridge, located near Dundee, Scotland, is a unique and historic structure that dates back to the early 19th century. Built between 1795 and 1810, this charming bridge features a combination of wrought and cast iron elements, with slender arches and whimsical design details like rings of diminishing diameter in the spandrels. Recently restored, the bridge now stands as a testament to the craftsmanship of the past, offering a glimpse into the engineering ingenuity of bygone days.
