The Old Herring Processing Plant in Ingólfsfjörður was built by Ingólfur hf in the 1940s with hopes of great herring catches in Húnaflói. Unfortunately, the fishing didn't go as planned, and the plant closed in 1952. If you like exploring or photographing abandoned buildings, you will love this place.
